Monochrome Monday: Fairy Castles

Fairy Castles

Fairy Castles

One of the nicknames for the ancient structures in Cappadocia Turkey is Fairy Castles. To me, they are nothing short of amazing and beautiful and mysterious. Everytime I look at the pictures I took in Cappadocia, I am mesmerized by the creations of the ancients, the miracle of engineering formed without the help of computers or power tools. I marvel at the ingenuity of the hairless ape that left the trees to create their own homes.

In this picture, Irene is walking toward one of the many complex structures that tickled our imaginations, that held our thoughts captive, that left us astonished at the wisdom of the ancient ancestors.
