I would love to have taken a slow boat to nowhere, just drifting wherever the wind and waves carried us. Not this year. Perhaps on our next visit.
The sign at Ak’bol restaurant is a sentiment I have held dear since I first heard it in the early 1980s. It is about peaceful coexistence between Humans and Earth Mother. I find that easier than peaceful coexistence with myself.
Mara is the Cocotal Inn and Cabanas resort dog. She is known for walking people to restaurants then hanging around to walk the home afterward. She is unique.
One of the joys of sitting in the same chair day after day is gaining situational awareness of the environment. This beauty spent quite a bit of time on the rocks at the edge of the water. It occupied quite a number of my photos and my attention.

These were very common birds I watched from my chair at the ocean side. They were elegant in flight and deadly in the dive to catch unwary fish.
