Forced Greenery

 

We were more than a little surprised at the lack of vegetation in Jordan. Most was scrub grasses. Trees were virtually nonexistent except where man brought in freshwater to force life from the desiccated soil. One must wonder if inducing foreign plants to take root is the best way to use the scarce resource.
