The 5 Ks of the Devout

The Devout

The five-point Sikh contract with their deity includes 1. Kesh – never cutting their hair and keeping it covered thus the turban. 2. Kangha – a small wooden comb that Sikhs use twice a day. It is supposed to be worn only in the hair and at all times. 3. Kara – an Iron bracelet to be worn at all times. 4. Kachera – specially designed undergarments with a tie-knot worn similar to boxer shorts. And, my favorite, 5. Kirpan – a dagger that is carried at all time which symbolizes a Sikh’s duty to come to the defense of those in peril.
