Seated Buddha Stupa

Cave 26 Stupa

This Stupa features a seated Buddha (and a standing David). Of all the caves at Ajanta, this cave, Cave 26, was the most ornate in terms of carvings with every wall being filled with scenes crafted in amazing detail. On the left wall, there is carving a reclining Buddha (see tomorrow’s post), the third I have encountered in my visits to Buddhist sites around the world.
