Maritime Garter Snake

Maritime Garter Snake

We did not see much land wildlife while in Canada. Mostly it was birds sweeping across the skies and when the sun started casting long shadows, the swarms of mosquitoes. We were walking high in the Cape Breton hills when we saw this beauty crossing our path, slowly crossing our path. My wife is deathly afraid of snakes so I moved ahead and encouraged it to hurry along clearing the path to continue our trek.
