Temple II

I am not sure if this was the tallest temple on the grounds but it was one of the taller ones. It is listed on the maps as Temple II and borders the Great Plaza. I took this photo from across plaza at Temple I. We were allowed to climb Temple I but Temple II was not open for climbing. It seems sacrifices were still being made at this temple when people fell during the climb. Not an official sacrifice by Mayan priests but, perhaps, the gods themselves are finding ways to get blood sacrifices.
