The third leg of our journey to Lamanai was back in a boat cruising river waters surrounded by jungle. In total, we were over three hours traveling each direction. The sequence was boat, bus, boat. The plus side of having a guide is they know where wildlife hang out so there is an increased possibility of encountering animals in their natural habitat.
This spider monkey was encountered at a bend in the river. The guide whistled and the simian appeared. My wife fed him a banana which he gracefully accepted from her hand. I took pictures focusing primarily on the eyes.
