Pottery Artists

It seems all guided tours include a trip to a local shop selling authentic <you name it> at the best possible prices and most of the money goes to support the local artists. I believe a portion of the sales fall directly into the pockets of the guides. There is no denying beautiful wares are produced. We purchased some plates and mugs as a memento of our trip. I haggled with the proprietors and won a 20% discount on our purchase. It was a price I am sure had been inflated by at least 20%. Still, I felt good at the illusion of getting a great deal, the vendor made his profit, and local artisans were able to earn money to support their families. It was win win win.
