Christian Tree in Islamic Land

Cross Tree

Cross Tree

Upon seeing these “T” shaped branches on this tree, I was immediately sent to my Christian roots and thought of the cross on which the Christ was crucified. It might seem out of place in this Islamic country until one realizes it was not always Islam that occupied the land. It was once part of Rome, Catholic Rome.  The tree was situated in the middle of the Roman Ruins within in hearing distance of water. The greenery common in this part of the ruins tells me underground water was abundant for the roots to find and suck into the greenery.
