The Pawn

Lighthouse

Lighthouse

A resident of the Midwest, United States, I have little exposure to lighthouses. Still, they do hold somewhat of an attraction. This one looks like the pawn from a game of chess. Appropriate? The lighthouse and pawn are both used primarily as defensive pieces with a bite of their own. The pawn guards the higher value pieces, king, queen, etc. The lighthouse guards by warning the ships the land behind will checkmate their very large vessels.
