We went to the Chicago Botanical Garden on the gorgeous Memorial Day 2016. It seems half of Chicagoland had the same idea. We were seeking a bit of solitude and nature but ended up feeling like salmon swimming upstream, like sardines squeezed into a can. Any moment of quiet we were able to carve out was shortly punctuated by a child screaming or people talking.
On the plus side, there was a very nice display of Bonsai art on exhibit. This picture, taken when a light cloud passed overhead, was one of the few pictures not completely overpowered by the sun’s glare. To the left of the tree is a rock. This is to balance the overall image.
