I was wandering around on my bicycle South of the Chicago Loop trying to get to the Lake Front Trail when I came upon a tree lined street with some very large, very expensive homes. On the corner of the street is the home of US Soccer. I would expect the home of US Soccer to be adjacent to a soccer field, close to a stadium, within kicking distance of a park with multiple white rectangles growing out of the green grass. But I am a football purist and forget that the beautiful game is controlled by a corrupt oligarchy concerned more with lining their pockets than the betterment of the game. As such, the world of football is filled with intrigue and politics and bribes. What better place to put the US citadel than in a city where even the dead have been known to vote.
