My first glance at this scene revealed only the women who were giant and naked except for the shoes. (I didn’t notice the shoes until later…much) It’s a picture that titillates. It’s also a commentary on societies priorities.
I took the picture because at the lower left corner, I saw a homeless man. I was intrigued by the poverty juxtaposed against what I figured was very expensive shoes. (Later research showed they are ridiculously priced at around $400 each so, in this photo, there are $1,200 worth of shoes. It’s amazing at what people will throw money at in the name of fashion.) I doubted the homeless fellow made that during an entire year of panhandling.
