Monochrome Monday: Reading Monk

Reading Monk

Reading Monk

I saw this monk on top of the massive Boudanath Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. The color of his clothing is the same as the Dalai Lama so I am guessing he was a Tibetan Buddhist Monk. The watch on his left wrist seemed out of place with the ritualistic clothing.

What was he reading? My guess, based on the worn look of the book is that it was a holy text. I tried to read the cover but it was written in what I think was Nepalese text, a language I can neither speak nor read. Sadly, I suffer from the American curse of being able to communicate in only one language.
