We all sat watching for a time, peering at the seemingly timelessness of Delicate Arch, marveling at the beautiful structure carved from solid rock by the persistent softness of water, the intermittent caresses of cold and hot winds. You could easily separate the watches from the worshippers. The boisterous watchers arrived and departed rather quickly ticking the site off their to do list.
We worshippers slowly approached with reverent awe, paused frequently to offer prayers in whispered tones, stopped and set our flesh upon the sacred earth which birthed all life. We lingered. We gazed. We watched the warm light of the setting sun slowly recede as the shadows crawled up the massive stone, watched until the full moon crested and bathed the arch and us in her cool light.
