I was shooting random pictures along the lakefront during a break from my morning bicycle ride. I took a break specifically to watch people. I found my lens drawn to this couple in white walking along the trail. I would like to thank them for walking in the walking part of the trail instead of hogging the middle section which is supposed to be for those moving at a brisker pace. From the demeanor, I felt the were together, a couple in their later years enjoying a lovely morning in Chicago. One would think this a comforting thought but I found them to be a bit disturbing. They were a couple but they weren’t holding hands. They were lacking the small bit of affection which, for me, connects one to another. The physical act of holding hands I see as two souls in concert, two souls connected.
