The Ancient Portal

The Portal

The Portal

I am drawn to doors. They represent portals to the unknown. They represent mystery and surprise. They represent the mysterious progression of our lives as we continually walk through one door while ignoring other doors.  I look at this beautiful, ancient specimen and can’t help but wonder about the lives of the many thousands that have crossed its threshold. I admire the craftsman that formed the wood in his hands, the artist that created the metal work, the genius that fused wood and steel into an exquisite work of art. Most of all, I view portals as potential, opportunity, the magical, the unknown, the future.
