Taj Mahal During Full Moon

The Taj Mahal allows 5 days of night viewing every month. Those being the date of the full moon plus and minus two days. Unless a day falls on a Friday, during which the Taj is closed, and during the month of Ramadan.

Visitors are divided into 8 batches of 50. We were in the 9:00 to 9:30 pm batch. Security is tight for the 400 guests per night. Tickets must be purchased at least 1 day in advance. Each is marked with the persons name and can’t be changed to anyone else. Armed guards accompanied us from the ticket booth, the 1 km electric bus ride, inside the Taj, and on the return trip.

The evening was peaceful once the lights at the viewing platform were turned off and we 50 admired the amazing work of art.

Getting a decent picture was difficult because of the low light conditions. I had to fiddle with numerous settings and use a fence as a makeshift tripod to capture this photo.
