Karma Tibet Temple

There were quite a few temples in Bodh Gaya with a short walk of my hotel. It seemed that each Buddhist country erected their own each in it’s own style reflecting their interpretation of Buddhist symbology in exquisite beauty. The upside was there was beauty both inside and out. The down side was that upon entering the temple, there were barricades near the entrance preventing visitors from approaching the Buddha icons. There was barely enough room for the believers to drop to their knees and make an honoring bow. It seemed sacrilegious to keep the devotees separated from the object of their devotion. I came away with the feeling the temples were erected in an attitude of ‘me too’ instead of places of worship for believers.
