Monochrome Monday: The Spirit of Music

The Spirit of Music Statue

The Spirit of Music Statue

It seems like everytime I ride around Chicago, I encounter a new memorial, a new statue. I am not sure if there are new ones constantly springing up or I just stumble onto something that has existed for some time. This statue is called the “Spirit of Music”. Until seeing this statue, I had never thought of music as having a gender. This monument was raised in honor of Theodore Thomas, the founder of the world famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
