Monochrome Monday: Man In Sunglasses

Man in Sunglasses

Man in Sunglasses

There was a time in my photography that I preferred taking scenic pictures to people pictures. That is no longer the case. However, there is an intimacy to photographing people that still intimidates me. It frequently (though less so now) feels like I am intruding into a world to which I am not invited, possibly not wanted.

My dilemma is that I love the texture of faces, love the lines, the hair, the angles, the expressions, mostly the so called ‘imperfections’ that give each person their unique character. So, I have taken to capturing people surreptitiously which means my collection tends to have more profiles than frontal pics.
