Blue Umbrella

Blue Umbrellas

Blue Umbrellas

I was comfortably seated in the restaurant overlooking the square and eating a mediocre meal when the thunder boomed and the clouds loosed a torrent of tears. Out of clear skies came the elements into Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Nepal. The curiosity seekers scattered leaving the square empty until the lone blue umbrella, undaunted wandering in the rain came to a stop to admire the ancient stone structures, structures without people milling about to taint the ancient beauty. As quickly as it entered it was gone removing the one splash of blue from the red walkway. The rain had the added benefit of washing the air clear of the dust that seemed to be synonymous with breathing in Kathmandu.
