Streets of Ephesus

Ephesus was a magnificent city. There is evidence of habitation going back to 6000 BC, evidence of habitation off and on through the time of the Greeks, evidence of Roman, Byzantine, and Turkish habitation. Today, it is ancient ruins, mystical ruins, mythical ruins. It was a famous Christian city referenced in the Bible. If you listen quietly, you can hear the echo of Paul the apostle’s proselytizing and winning souls. It probably has had more visitors in it’s decayed state than the millennia when it was an active city. Currently, it gets 1.5 million visitors a year. In 2012, Irene and I were two of those lucky visitors to walk the streets of Ephesus, walk in the footsteps of Paul. It was truly a magical moment in my life.
