Immortal Sadness

Immortal Sadness

Immortal Sadness

Who is this face cast in granite thousands of years ago? Was it a human? Was it a god? Was it male? Female? Why did the artist capture a face of sadness? Did the subject understand it was bound for immortality? What is your name icon? When did you live? Did you love? Were you loved? What did thy call thyself? All my questions are greeted with a sad, stoney stare. I almost feel compelled to write a story to answer the questions but that would be my story and still leave me with haunting questions regarding the life captured in immortal sadness.
