It was with mixed feelings I snapped this pic. Cappadocia is famous for the balloon rides that give visitors a bird’s eye view of the lunar like landscape. We would have liked to rise up in the balloon but couldn’t justify the $300 per person (there were two of us) for a ride that lasted less than an hour. I do prefer the visceral connection with walking through beautiful landscapes than viewing them from afar. Still, I am a fan of surreal visual encounters so I imagine viewing Cappadocia from the sky would have been a feast for my eyes.
