I love mountain biking the back country of Moab. The more isolated my location the happier I am. Anyone within eyesight evokes a feeling of being overcrowded which is strange since I grew up in the crowded suburbs of Chicago. On this particular ride, I had to undertake an extreme climb over loose and broken rock much of which I had to walk. Once past the incline, I was gifted with incredibly scenic vistas. Backcountry biking, for me, is as much about the riding as it is about the solitude as it is about sitting and contemplating wondrous beauty. For me, no place is more beautiful than the greater Moab Utah area which is where this picture was taken.
